Tricholoma intermedium Pk. Cap 3.5-10cm across, convex becoming flatter, often slightly concave or with a rounded umbo; light yellow with a more olive-tan center, often fading in age; sticky- becoming dry, smooth or minutely scaly over the center. Gills sinuate, close, broad; white. Stem 35-90x7-19mm, solid becoming hollow, base somewhat bulbous and rounded; white or pale yellowish; silky-hairy, often with a light bloom at the top. Flesh thick; white. Odor mealy. Taste mealy. Spores ellipsoid, smooth, nonamyloid, 5.7-6.7 x 3.8-4.8ì. Deposit white. Habitat in groups under conifers or occasionally in mixed woods. Found in northern North America. Season September-October. Edibility not known. |
